Prof. Luc Taerwe is the Emeritus Professor at Department of Structural Engineering and Building Materials,Ghent University, Belgium. He is also the director of the China Platform at Ghent University. His research and teaching areas reinforced and prestressed concrete, fire resistance, robustness of structures, tunnel linings, composite reinforcement (FRP), structural reliability, statistical quality control, high performance and fibre reinforced concrete etc. He is the organiser of several conferences and workshops and member of several evaluation panels for research and education on demand of funding agencies and universities abroad.
