Professor Eng Choon Leong is internationally renowned for his research work on unsaturated soil mechanics. He is currently the Chairman of the Spring Singapore Technical Committee on Civil and Geotechnical Engineering, a Professional Engineer registered in Singapore, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore, and a member of the writing committee for the Singapore Building Code (Geotechnical). He has previously served as the Head of the Division of Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering and the Director of the Maritime Infrastructure Engineering Programme at Nanyang Technological University.
Professor Leong has published nearly 400 scientific papers, including close to 200 SCI-indexed papers, which have received over 3,000 citations. He has also authored 6 monographs. Currently, Professor Leong serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the international geotechnical journal International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering and is an Editorial Board Member of other renowned international geotechnical journals, including the Canadian Geotechnical Journal and Geomechanics and Engineering.
