Professor Anke Weidenkaff is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) and the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). She currently holds a Chair Professorship at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany. She has previously served as the President of the European Thermoelectric Society and as the Director of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies (Fraunhofer IWKS). For an extended period, she has held significant positions in various international organizations, including serving as a member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) and as Chair of the Advisory Committee for Advanced Materials at the European Commission. Her research areas encompass high-performance thermoelectric devices, energy conversion and storage, green manufacturing processes, and resource recycling. She has been honored with several international awards, including the Karl Böer Renewable Energy Achievement Award, the Kavli Chair Lectureship Award, and the SolarPACES Award. Professor Weidenkaff actively participates in and is committed to promoting international scientific research cooperation, building transnational academic exchange platforms, and fostering global collaborative innovation in the fields of energy and engineering.
